The Federal High Court in Calabar has issued an interim order preventing the planned demolition of the Calabar residence of the Alphonsus Ogar Eba, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) deputy governorship candidate in Cross River State for the 2027 general election.
Eba announced the development on Thursday through a statement shared on his official Facebook page, revealing that the order was secured by his lawyer, First Baba Isa, at the Federal High Court.
According to him, the court’s injunction bars any demolition of the property until his suit alleging a violation of his fundamental rights is heard and determined.
Expressing gratitude, Eba thanked those who supported him, describing the ruling as a victory for justice.
He also maintained that the legal battle was only beginning, saying the matter could ultimately be decided by the Supreme Court. He stressed that he would pursue every available legal option and urged respect for the rule of law.
”We are in a democracy, and every action we take will be guided by lawful means. No government, regardless of its influence, is above the law,” he stated.
The former Cross River APC chairman further appealed for peace, unity, love and the continued development of Cross River State, while encouraging his supporters to remain calm and resolute.
