The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) has approved the elevation of 68 legal practitioners to the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
The decision was reached during the committee’s 174th Plenary Session held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, and chaired by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun.
A breakdown of the successful candidates shows that 67 were admitted under the advocates’ category, while one candidate was elevated as an academic. Four women also made this year’s list of new Senior Advocates.
The newly elevated advocates, listed according to their seniority at the Bar, are:
