The Nigeria Police Force has deployed Commissioner of Police Samuel Etaifo to Osun State to lead security arrangements for the upcoming governorship election.

‎Force spokesperson Ani Iniedu announced the deployment on Friday, explaining that it was part of the police’s broader plan to ensure a peaceful, safe and credible electoral process.

‎According to him, Etaifo will be responsible for coordinating election security operations across the state while working with other security agencies and relevant stakeholders to protect voters, electoral officers and election materials.

‎Iniedu added that the current Osun State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, would continue to oversee the state police command’s regular activities and provide administrative and operational support to Etaifo during the election period.

‎He urged all officers assigned to election duties to uphold professionalism, remain neutral and strictly follow the law, including the Code of Conduct for Security Personnel on Electoral Duty.

‎The police spokesperson said the deployment reflects the Force’s commitment to maintaining order and ensuring a smooth electoral exercise in Osun State.
