The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has confirmed a fire outbreak at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Ikeja, Lagos.
The confirmation was made in a statement issued on Sunday by FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Henry Agbebire.
According to Mr Agbebire, the authority’s Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting Service was immediately deployed to the scene and is actively working to bring the situation under control.
He stated that no injuries or fatalities had been recorded as of the time of the statement.
Mr Agbebire assured the public that additional information would be released as the response to the incident continues.
The statement, however, did not indicate the cause of the fire or when it started.
