The Walt Disney Company has entered into a new global partnership with TikTok that will enable content creators on the platform to produce and share short-form videos featuring characters and scenes from Disney films and shows.

‎Under the agreement, selected creator videos will be displayed on Disney+ in a new vertical-video section known as the Verts tab. The initiative is designed to attract younger viewers and deepen their engagement with Disney’s entertainment franchises.

‎The pilot scheme is expected to launch in the United States in the coming months before being rolled out to other markets globally.

‎Disney’s Chief Marketing and Brand Officer, Asad Ayaz, said the partnership would provide creators with a wider platform to showcase their work while giving audiences new ways to engage with the company’s stories.

‎He noted that fans have increasingly become storytellers themselves, using digital platforms to express their creativity around Disney’s movies and programmes.

‎TikTok’s Head of Entertainment, Dawn Young, also highlighted the role of creators in keeping films and television shows relevant beyond their original releases.

‎According to Young, creators help extend the lifespan of movies and shows by generating discussions and content that fans discover, interact with and share.

‎The collaboration is therefore expected to connect TikTok’s creator-driven culture with Disney+’s streaming audience, creating more opportunities for fans to engage with Disney content through short-form videos.
