‎A 14-year-old student has reportedly killed at least six people after opening fire at Debsirin Nonthaburi School in Bang Kruai district, Nonthaburi province, Thailand, on Friday morning.

‎Reports from local media said the teenager first killed his grandparents at their residence in Bangkok before heading to the school, where he carried out the attack.

‎Police authorities confirmed that three teachers and three students were among those killed in the shooting, while over 20 others sustained injuries and were taken to hospitals for medical attention.

‎National police spokesperson Trairong Phiwphan said the suspected gunman has died, as emergency responders continue efforts at the scene.

‎The incident adds to a growing list of school-related shootings recorded in Thailand. In February, a teacher was killed and a student wounded during a shooting at a school in Hat Yai district, southern Thailand.

‎In another tragic incident in 2022, 36 people, including 24 children, lost their lives in an attack at a childcare centre in the country.
