A 30-year-old man, Biola Titilayo, has been arraigned before an Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court in Isabo, Ogun State, over the alleged theft of a motorcycle valued at N1.35 million.

‎Titilayo, who lives in the Sodeke area of Abeokuta, was brought before Magistrate O.O. Sam-Obaleye on a two-count charge of obtaining by false pretence and stealing. He pleaded guilty to both charges.

‎According to the prosecutor, Evelyn Motim, the alleged offence occurred on July 2 at about 10:00 a.m. in the Sodeke area of Abeokuta.

‎Motim told the court that the complainant, Saheed Adenekan, had handed a TVS motorcycle with registration number DED 615 VE to the defendant for commercial operations.

‎The defendant was reportedly required to remit N6,000 to Adenekan every day from the proceeds generated through the motorcycle.

‎However, the prosecutor alleged that Titilayo made the required payment for only four days before disappearing with the motorcycle.

‎Following the defendant’s plea, the magistrate adjourned the matter until September 8 for presentation of the facts of the case and sentencing.
