Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have rescued 10 civilians in separate operations conducted in Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara.

‎A statement on Thursday by Aliyu Danja, the military spokesman, said troops conducted a patrol in the Isa area of Sokoto and encountered a terrorist ambush on Wednesday.

‎He said the troops responded swiftly and decisively, forcing the terrorists to flee in disarray.

‎“During the encounter, 5 civilians were rescued and subsequently reunited with their families, while 2 motorcycles abandoned by the terrorists were recovered,” Mr Danja said.

‎In another operation on Tuesday, he said troops acting on intelligence regarding three kidnapped victims conducted a search and rescue operation in Danko Wasagu council area of Kebbi.

‎The spokesman added that troops responded swiftly to reported terrorist activities in the Tsafe LGA of Zamfara on Tuesday.

‎According to him, the troops’ rapid mobilisation compelled the terrorists to flee the area, abandoning two captives.

‎“The victims, who sustained gunshot wounds during their ordeal, were immediately evacuated to a medical facility for urgent treatment,” Mr Danja said.
