‎The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Bayo Lawal, has described the Ibadan circular road project as a deliberate, visionary masterplan designed to avoid planning failures and secure the state’s future.
‎
‎Mr Lawal stated this at the inauguration of the newly constructed chairman’s office at the Egbeda Local Government Secretariat on Friday in Ibadan.

‎He said every major development comes with collateral effects on individual properties in the overriding public interest, assuring that all persons affected by the Circular Road project would be duly compensated.
‎
‎“The circular road is not an accidental project. It is a deliberate, visionary masterplan to prevent the kind of planning failures we see in other cities and to secure the future for Oyo State,” he said.
‎
‎According to Mr Lawal, Egbeda Local Government Area is strategically positioned at the centre of major development corridors, including the 110km Circular Road.
‎
‎He added that its location gives it enormous prospects for the overall development of the state.
‎
‎In his remarks, the chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Sikiru Sanda, appreciated Governor Seyi Makinde for giving local government chairmen the platform to be functional and deliver on their mandates.
‎
‎Mr Sanda said the new chairman’s office was funded solely by the local government’s internally generated revenue.
‎
‎He assured residents that his administration would continue to serve and deliver more dividends of democracy until the end of its tenure.
