As the Federal Republic of Nigeria marks its 66th Independence Anniversary, the Ukomu Igala Organization (UIO) Worldwide as a leading voice of the Igala people of Nigeria, joins millions of patriotic citizens both at home and in the diaspora to celebrate this historic milestone in our evolutionary journey as a nation.
‎
‎Today is a moment for reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment to the ideals upon which our great nation was founded. Despite the challenges that have confronted us through the decades, Nigeria has remained a symbol of resilience, strength, unity in diversity, and boundless opportunities. Our nation’s ability to endure, adapt, and continue its march towards greatness remains a source of pride to all patriots.
‎
‎The Igala people have over the years remained active and willing stakeholders in the Nigerian project. Through our checkered contributions to national security, public service, commerce, education, culture, and nation-building, we have consistently demonstrated our belief in the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
‎
‎Today, we reaffirm our undiluted loyalty to our dear country and reiterate our inimitable commitment to preserving the peace, unity, and progress of our nation.
‎
‎Permit me to acknowledge the immense contributions of our leaders (past and current) and the Nigerian peoples in achieving this great milestone. UIO particularly notes the determination and courage of the current administration under the leadership of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR to steer our dear nation through an arduous process of economic and structural reforms. Needless to reiterate that the paths of reform and social re-engineering could be painful and challenging; especially when undertaken towards building a stronger economy, strengthening of public institutions, expanding social infrastructure, attracting investments and laying a foundation for sustainable national development and prosperity.
‎
‎While appreciating these efforts however, our organization will like to humbly observe that the country is still grappling with multidimensional poverty, pervasive insecurity and a progressive deterioration of social amenities in the country; especially at the grassroots. Unless addressed urgently, these issues will ultimately diminish the current efforts of the Federal Government. Hence the need to reassure the citizenry of the determination of Government to enhance the welfare of Nigerians through more practical and productive steps.
‎
‎As patriotic citizens, we urge all Nigerians to remain united in purpose, hopeful in spirit, and committed to the collective task of nation-building. Let me respectfully remind us that the future that we desire for ourselves, our children and generations to come, cannot be built by the government alone. Rather, it can only materialize through shared commitment and sacrifices, hard work, and patriotism of all citizens of Nigeria.
‎
‎At 66, Nigeria stands not merely as a nation of over two hundred million people but as a beacon of hope for Africa and the Black race. Our diversity remains our strength, our unity our shield, while our shared destiny remains our greatest asset. Therefore, let us not despair under any guise but rather remain hopeful that Nigeria will soon be the envy and desire of all nations.
‎
‎On behalf of Ukomu Igala Organization Worldwide, I once again congratulate the Government and peoples of the Federal Republic of Nigeria heartily on this remarkable occasion. It is my earnest and fervent prayer that Almighty God continues to bless our dear Kogi State and our great country Nigeria with abundant peace, stability, prosperity, and enduring progress. Amen!
‎
‎Long Live Federal Republic of Nigeria.
‎Long Live Kogi State.
‎Long Live the Igala Nation.
‎
‎Happy 66th Independence Anniversary, Nigeria.
‎
‎Signed:
‎
‎Major General James Ataguba (Rtd)
‎President
‎Ukomu Igala Organization
