The African Action Congress (AAC) has asked President Bola Tinubu to approve the use of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, for the inauguration of its Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party also requested food, drinks and other logistical support for 5,000 participants expected to attend the ceremony, including guests from Nigeria and abroad.
In a letter dated October 21, 2026, and signed by its National Secretary, Oshiokhue Philip Ikpeminoghena, the AAC proposed November 11, 2026, for the inauguration.
Addressed to Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, the letter said the requests were made in the spirit of multiparty democracy, political inclusiveness and equal treatment of political parties.
The party said granting its request would demonstrate the Presidency’s commitment to fairness and equal access, arguing that public institutions should serve all Nigerians without partisan discrimination.
The AAC also referred to arrangements reportedly made for the All Progressives Congress (APC) during a similar political engagement, asking for comparable treatment.
It urged the President to consider the request favourably and provide information on the procedures and conditions for approval.
