President Bola Tinubu will on Friday visit Akwa Ibom State to commission several projects executed by Governor Umo Eno’s administration before proceeding to Rivers State on Saturday to attend an All Progressives Congress (APC) rally.

The two-state visit was announced in a statement issued on Thursday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.

According to the statement, Tinubu will begin his visit in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, where he is expected to commission projects across different sectors, including aviation, healthcare, road infrastructure and tourism.

Among the projects scheduled for inauguration are the new International Terminal Building, the International Airport Hospital and the Ibom Aviation Village, all located within the Victor Attah International Airport.

The President will also commission the Airport-Okopedi Road, which traverses Nsit Atai and Okobo Local Government Areas, as well as Ring Road 3, linking Idoro Road to Ikot Ekpene Road through Uyo and Ibiono Ibom.

Other projects listed for commissioning include the AKWA-GIS Office Complex, the Command and Control Centre and the ARISE Palm Resort.

Governor Eno has declared Friday a work-free day across the state to enable residents to participate in activities marking the President’s visit.

After the engagements in Akwa Ibom, Tinubu will depart for Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Saturday to participate in an APC political rally.

The rally will be the President’s third since he flagged off his re-election campaign in Kaduna last month, according to the statement.

The visits are also expected to provide opportunities for Tinubu to meet political stakeholders, party members and supporters in the two states.

The Presidency said the engagements would emphasise political unity, stability and a shared commitment to national progress.

The visit comes as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the APC intensifying its engagements with party members and supporters across the country.
