The Police Service Commission has approved the deployment of new Commissioners of Police, CPs, for Plateau, Enugu, Nasarawa, and Ondo police commands.
‎
‎Torty Kalu, the Head of Protocol and Public Relations of PSC, said this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.
‎
‎He said the deployment followed series of interviews to ascertain the fitness and suitability of the CPs to undertake the tasks of the new offices.
‎
‎Kalu said the newly deployed CPs are Sunday Okoebor, Plateau, Fidelis Ogarabe, Enugu State, Sheikh Danko, Nasarawa State, and Johnson Babalola, Ondo State.
‎
‎He said the Chairman of the Commission, Hashimu Argungu, represented by Justice Paul Galumje, a member of PSC Board had affirmed the postings.
‎
‎Mr Argungu said the postings were in line with the provisions of Section 215(1)(b) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
‎
‎He said the provision empowers the commission to appoint CPs for each state of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
‎
‎According to him, from the interviews, the CPs were found worthy in learning and character for their new duty posts.
‎
‎He, therefore, urged the senior officers to be impartial and live up to the expectations from their new offices.
