Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe has emerged as the consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the Cross River North Senatorial District ahead of the party’s primary election slated for May 18, 2026.
The development followed extensive consultations involving party stakeholders and aspirants across the senatorial district.
Three aspirants from Bekwarra Local Government Area, Prof. Ochugudu Ipuele, Barr. Cecilia Adams and Dr. John Onyi, officially withdrew from the race and declared support for Jarigbe after a series of meetings.
Their withdrawal effectively positions Jarigbe as the party’s consensus candidate for the 2027 general elections in Cross River North.
Party sources said the decision was reached to promote unity and strengthen the APC’s chances in the senatorial district ahead of the polls.
