Nigeria’s world record holder, Tobi Amusan, on Sunday, won the final of the women’s 100m hurdles in Rabat, Morocco, for her first Diamond League victory this 2026 season.
Running on lane four, the 29-year-old ran a winning time of 12.28 seconds, breaking the 12.45-second record she set in the 2025 season.

Amusan outran her closest rival, Devynne Charlton of the Bahamas, with 12.40 seconds and Nadine Visser from the Netherlands with 12.47seconds, to also match her season’s best time in Morocco.
Amusan earlier this month ran 12.28 seconds at the Xiamen Diamond League in China, where she finished second to America’s Masai Russell, who ran the world’s second-fastest time of 12.14 seconds, just 0.02 seconds short of the Nigerian’s world record of 12.12 seconds.
Next up for Amusan is the Wanda Diamond League meet at the Golden Gala Pietro Mennea in Rome, Italy, on Thursday.
