Dekina, Kogi State – Residents of Biraidu community in Dekina Local Government Area have received a major power boost after a new 300kVA transformer was dispatched to the area.
Confirming the development, Idris Hussein Kashim announced: “The 300kva transformer for Biraidu community, DEKINA LGA, has been successfully dispatched to BIRAIDU IMMEDIATELY.”
The intervention is expected to improve electricity supply for households, businesses, and schools in Biraidu, which has faced recurring outages due to inadequate power infrastructure.
Kashim linked the project to a commitment to deliver on promises. “We align words with actions for the benefit of our people and land,” he stated.
Community leaders welcomed the move, saying the transformer would reduce the community’s dependence on smaller, overloaded units and support small businesses that rely on stable power. Installation and commissioning of the equipment are expected to follow shortly.
The dispatch adds to ongoing efforts to upgrade power infrastructure across rural communities in Kogi East, where demand for electricity has grown with population and economic activity.
