London – Britain’s Observer newspaper reported Sunday that Prime Minister Keir Starmer was expected to resign on Monday and set out a timetable for his departure.
“Britain’s Observer newspaper said Prime Minister Keir Starmer was expected to resign on Monday and set out a timetable for his departure,” the report stated.
However, a government source pushed back on the claim, insisting the PM remains committed to his duties. “Though a government source said Starmer remained focused on getting on with the job of governing,” the source told reporters.
Downing Street has not issued an official statement on the report. The conflicting accounts have fuelled speculation in Westminster about the Prime Minister’s future, though no resignation has been confirmed.
Starmer has been in office since July 2024, leading a Labour government elected on a platform of economic growth and public service reform.
