Governor Francis Nwifuru has urged Muslims to use the occasion of the Eid-el-Fitr to pray for tolerance and the success of the 2027 elections.
Mr Nwifuru gave the advice in a sallah message on Thursday. He also called on the Muslims to pray for sustained peace in Nigeria and global stability.
“As the nation gradually approaches the 2027 political season, Nigerians should seek divine guidance.
“Pray that we are guided by wisdom, tolerance, and a collective resolve to place the interest of our country above personal interests, and to ensure a violence-free election, as espoused by President Bola Tinubu. Continue to show love, extend charity, and promote camaraderie among your neighbours, as the holy season requires.
“On this sacred and joyous occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, I extend my warmest greetings and heartfelt goodwill to our Muslim brothers and sisters in Ebonyi State, across Nigeria, and around the world,” he said
The governor called on Muslims to renew their commitment to the values of compassion, unity and generosity.
“As you celebrate this auspicious festival, I urge you to continue to extend love, kindness, and charity to the less privileged among us, in keeping with the true essence of Islam.
“At this critical time in our national journey, I call on all the faithful to offer prayers for enduring peace, unity, and stability in Nigeria.
“With the holy month of Ramadan coming to an end, we must also remember to pray for global peace, that conflicts may cease and that humanity may embrace dialogue, understanding, and coexistence,” he stated.
