The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Youth Leader Dayo Israel has distributed 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado SUVs to loyal party members, courtesy of First Lady Remi Tinubu, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Mr Israel announced the donation in a post on social media on Sunday alongside a video showing at least seven Prado SUVs, stating the gift was to help some leaders with mobilisation for the upcoming election.
“Today, I presented brand new 2026 Prado to my committed selected youth leaders to aid their election mobilisation activities,” Mr Israel said.
Mr Israel thanked Ms Tinubu for her contribution to the vehicle donation, pledging to reciprocate her gesture by ensuring the APC wins every polling unit in the 2027 general elections.
“I am grateful to my Mummy, H.E Mrs Oluremi Tinubu for her continuous support to the party structure under my leadership. The party is supreme and that supremacy will show in our actions in this election period – we will deliver polling unit by polling unit,” Mr Israel added.
Recall that this it’s not the first time Ms Tinubu has been involved in vehicle donations for different purposes. In June, she donated cars to women leaders in the five states controlled by opposition political parties. The beneficiaries are in Abia, Bauchi, Oyo, Osun and Anambra states.
Also, earlier, the first lady donated 50 buses and 30 tricycles to her alma mater, the Obafemi Awolowo University.
The vehicle gifts followed complaints about the transportation challenges in the institution.
“The management of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, wishes to inform the University Community, particularly our dear students, of the successful receipt of 50 buses and 30 tricycles graciously donated by the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON.
“This generous gesture to her alma mater is a classic demonstration of the first lady’s unwavering commitment to the welfare, mobility and overall well-being of students, adding that the provision of these vehicles is expected to significantly ease transportation challenges within the campus,” the university said in a statement at the time.
