2027: Sabo Kente Cites Poor Infrastructure, Vows to Restructure Taraba If Elected as Governor

An aspirant under the All Progressive Congress APC, Chief David Sabo Kente has decried the poor state of development in Taraba state.

He stated this while addressing journalists shortly after his declaration, Chief Kente strongly emphasized the urgent need for political change in Taraba State despite the incumbent governor being his younger brother from the same local government and geopolitical zone.

He lamented what he described as the backwardness of the state despite substantial allocations received from the Federal Government over the years.

He expressed disappointment over the absence of visible infrastructural development and tangible achievements that citizens could proudly mentioned.

He highlighted the poor condition of infrastructure in the state, he cited the deplorable state of the Wukari–Jalingo road.
According to him, family ties should never overshadow the collective interest of the state.

“Although the governor is my younger brother, the current administration has failed to adequately represent the aspirations and expectations of the people of Taraba State.

“As a senior brother, I believe it is necessary for me to step in and do what is right for the people.

He disclosed that he had never benefited from state government contracts, adding that his career trajectory was shaped through experiences at the State Ministry of Agriculture, World Bank projects, the North East Development Commission (NEDC), and private business ventures.

Chief Sabo Kente describe himself as a businessman, philanthropist, and development advocate.

He recalled that his first Governorship attempt was in 2015 under the same APC platform, adding that he remained a longstanding member of the party and played significant roles in strengthening the APC in Taraba State, including supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2023 emergence, also the current governor Dr Agbu Kefas.

“I am among those that brought the present governor Agbu Kefas into that position of Governor and with my support that made him win, but he didn’t perform well that is why I come by myself to restructure our Taraba State,” Kente stated.

He reaffirming his determination to rescue Taraba State from underdevelopment and reposition it for economic growth, infrastructural advancement, and effective governance.
