KADUNA — The Kaduna State Executive Council, presided over by Governor Uba Sani, has “approved the construction of 11 new township roads in Zaria and Sabon Gari Local Government Areas under Phase II of its urban road development programme.”
The approval was announced in a statement issued by the Kaduna Roads Agency, KADRA, which described “the project as a major step towards advancing the Uba Sani administration’s urban renewal and rural transformation agenda.” According to the agency, “the road projects are expected to stimulate economic growth, improve connectivity, transform local communities, and create employment opportunities for residents.” “This major infrastructural intervention is designed to drive economic growth, transform local communities, improve connectivity, and create immediate job opportunities for the citizens,” the statement said.
KADRA disclosed that “the projects have been awarded to two construction firms—Mothercat Limited and CGC Nigeria Limited—to ensure timely execution and quality delivery.”
The roads to be handled by Mothercat Limited are, “Babban Dodo–Durumi–Kofan Kuyanbana Road, Rimin Tsiwa–Kofan Gayan Roa, [Secretariat–Albarkawa–Kaura]Maje Road Turunku Road [Sabon Gari], Waff Road [Sabon Gari],Layin Radio Road”.
According to the statement, “the roads to be constructed by CGC Nigeria Limited include, Aba Road [Tudun Wada],Turunku Road [Sabon Layi] Tudun Wada Road Dadda’u Road [Layin M. Mamuda] Sheikh Umar Muazu Street Idris Majeh Street [Fillin Mallawa].”
The agency said “the projects form part of the Kaduna State Government’s commitment to expanding road infrastructure, improving access within urban communities, and enhancing socio-economic development across the state.”
