Bayern Munich forward Harry Kane has been named the winner of the 2026 Ballon d’Or, beating top contenders such as Lamine Yamal, Kylian Mbappe and Rodri to the prestigious trophy.
The organisers of the Ballon d’Or said the reference period covers the entirety of last season—from August 3, 2025 to July 19, 2026—“including international competitions (World Cup and AFCON for men; Asian Cup and the Nations League final phase for women).
It also included “The Women’s AFCON, which ended on August 16, will count toward the current season.”
The 33-year-old netted 61 goals at club level in the 2025/26 season as Bayern Munich clinched the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and Franz Beckenbauer Supercup.
Kane also scored three goals in the 2026 FIFA World Cup as England finished third.
