Group Chief Executive Officer of Oando PLC, Wale Tinubu, says the Umrah offers a unique opportunity for the federal government delegation to pray for Nigeria’s peace, stability and development.
Mr Tinubu, who joined President Bola Tinubu in Makkah to perform the lesser Hajj, told journalists that spiritual devotion and hard work must go hand in hand in building a prosperous nation.
He described the pilgrimage as an opportunity to demonstrate humility, gratitude, brotherhood and commitment to service.
“In Makkah, the distinctions we carry fall away, leaving humility, gratitude, brotherhood and a spirit of service.
“I am honoured to join President Bola Tinubu in performing the lesser Hajj. May Allah accept our Ibadah and grant our nation peace, progress and prosperity,” he said.
The Oando boss also commended the economic reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration, saying they were creating opportunities in the oil and gas sector.
He stressed that the reforms should promote inclusive development, improve lives and expand economic opportunities.
Mr Tinubu expressed optimism that Nigerians would begin to experience the full benefits of the reforms.
He had earlier joined the president on Friday to perform Umrah alongside top government officials, state governors and business leaders, including the chairman of BUA Group, Abdulsamad Rabiu.
The president had prayed to God for protection, the restoration of sustainable peace, and national unity in Nigeria.
