Chief Stanley Osifo, who contested against President Bola Tinubu in the All Progressives Congress presidential primary, has said he fully understands the enormous responsibility placed on the President in governing the nation.
Osifo made the remarks in a congratulatory message to mark the third anniversary of Tinubu’s administration, where he commended the leadership efforts and policy direction of the government.
The APC chieftain noted that leading Nigeria at a time of economic reforms, security challenges, and rising expectations for development requires significant commitment and difficult decision-making.
In his message, he stated: “I felicitate with you on your third anniversary as President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Three years of leadership marked by conscientious economic decisions and pursuit of national development deserve to be acknowledged.”
Osifo further explained that his experience as a fellow APC stakeholder and former aspirant for the same office gave him a clear understanding of the pressures and expectations associated with the presidency.
“As a fellow APC stakeholder who recently aspired to this same office, I recognise the enormous weight of the mandate you carry,” he said, adding that he remains committed to supporting the President’s vision for a united, secure, and prosperous Nigeria.
He also stressed that despite political competition during the APC presidential primary, the broader national interest must remain the priority for all political actors.
According to him, issues such as national unity, economic progress, and sustainable development should continue to guide leadership decisions across party lines.
Osifo concluded by praying for divine wisdom, strength, and good health for the President, saying, “Congratulations, Mr President.”
President Tinubu, who emerged as the APC presidential candidate after the party’s primary, was inaugurated on May 29, 2023, following the tenure of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
