Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has assured residents that his administration will sustain and expand ongoing development efforts across key sectors, including infrastructure, housing, healthcare, education, and security.
The governor made the assurance in a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, to mark his seventh year in office.
Sanwo-Olu said the administration remains committed to delivering more dividends of governance, declaring that Lagosians should expect greater progress in the coming years.
“As we mark this seventh anniversary, I want to assure Lagosians that the best is yet to come,” he said.
He added that his government would not slow down in its drive to provide quality roads, affordable housing, improved healthcare services, stronger education systems, and a safer environment for businesses and residents.
According to him, the journey since 2019 has been built on shared sacrifice, resilience, and collective effort, while appreciating residents for their support and trust over the years.
“Seven years ago, we began this journey with a clear vision to build a Greater Lagos that works for all. Today, I salute every Lagosian for the trust, patience, and partnership you have shown,” the governor said.
Sanwo-Olu noted that achievements recorded so far were made possible through the cooperation of citizens, adding that milestones had been achieved in infrastructure development, healthcare, education reforms, urban transport systems, youth empowerment, and renewal projects across the state.
He acknowledged the impact of global economic challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, but said the administration remained focused on its THEMES+ development agenda.
The governor also commended President Bola Tinubu for supporting Lagos State’s growth through the Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in areas such as infrastructure, health, education, and empowerment.
He disclosed that the administration had recently presented its scorecard to residents through a series of ministerial briefings.
Sanwo-Olu called for continued support from residents, private sector players, and development partners, urging stronger collaboration to drive sustainable development in the state.
He also expressed appreciation to civil servants, traditional rulers, religious leaders, community stakeholders, and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for their contributions to Lagos State’s progress over the past seven years.
