The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Rabiu Shuaibu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency by-election in Kano State.
The Returning Officer, Professor Umar Sani, announced the result on Saturday, stating that Shuaibu secured a total of 35,356 votes to emerge victorious.
His closest rival, Lawal Garba-Haruna of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), polled 268 votes, while Abubakar Yahaya-Muhammad of the Labour Party (LP) scored 98 votes.
Professor Sani declared that Shuaibu met all legal requirements and was duly returned elected after the collation of results.
The by-election was conducted to fill the vacancy created by the death of Muhammad Danjuma-Hassan of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
Election officials confirmed that the process was concluded peacefully, with results announced at the collation centre in line with INEC procedures.
