The Kebbi State Police Command has confirmed that suspected terrorists attacked Tsamiya town on Saturday night, destroying property and abducting a resident during the assault.

‎According to the command, tactical operatives have been immediately deployed to the area in response to the incident.

‎Police reports indicated that the armed attackers stormed the community late in the night, shooting sporadically while setting several structures on fire. Among the affected properties were a makeshift checkpoint used by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, a local brothel, and the residence of one Sule Mai Goge.

‎During the attack, the gunmen also kidnapped Alhaji Yusuf Bazamfare.

‎In a statement released early Sunday, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Bashir Usman, said the Commissioner of Police had ordered reinforcement of security personnel to restore order and protect lives and property.

‎He noted that security agencies responded promptly after receiving distress reports from the affected community.

‎Usman added that a full investigation had begun, while efforts were ongoing to rescue the abducted victim and track down those responsible for the attack.

‎The command further assured residents of Tsamiya and nearby communities that security operations would continue until normalcy is fully restored in the area.

‎Residents were urged to remain calm, stay alert, and cooperate with security agencies by providing useful information that could aid the investigation.
