The Military Pensions Board (MPB) has begun implementation of newly approved pension rates and payment of arrears to military pensioners.
‎
‎The MPB disclosed this in a statement by its public relations officer, Aliyu Mohammed, on Friday in Abuja.

‎Mr Mohammed said the adjustment followed the implementation of the new minimum wage and that the applicable arrears would be paid into pensioners’ accounts starting October 2.
‎
‎According to him, the implementation of the new pension rates and payment of arrears have been processed by the board.
‎
‎“The board appreciates the patience, understanding and cooperation demonstrated by military pensioners throughout the implementation process,” he said.
‎
‎Mr Mohammed reaffirmed the board’s commitment to timely pension payments and continuous improvement in pension administration.
‎
‎He said the MPB also acknowledged the invaluable service and sacrifices of Nigeria’s military veterans.
‎
‎He urged pensioners to continue to cooperate with the board as it strives to improve pension administration and service delivery.
