ABUJA — The Federal Government has ordered ministries, departments and agencies, MDAs, to immediately stop payments for constituency projects nominated by members of the National Assembly and has suspended all new contracts under the scheme.
According to the directive, “FG Stops Ministries and Agencies from Paying Reps’ and Senators’ Constituency Project Funds, Suspends New Contracts.”
The move affects all outstanding and ongoing payments to contractors handling projects allocated through the annual constituency project budget for federal lawmakers. Government officials said the suspension would remain in place pending a review of the implementation and funding framework for the projects.
