Canada-Based Nigerian Man Onidare Charged Over Alleged Sexual Assault of Two Women‎

‎A Canada-based Nigerian man Olusegun Onidare has been arrested and charged in connection to alleged sexual assault of two women in separate incidents that occurred in the municipality of Brampton, Ontario.

‎The Peel Regional Police confirmed the charges in a statement on Wednesday, stating that the incident occurred on August 31 when two women reported that they were assaulted by a man whose identity was unknown at the time.

‎According to the police, the first incident happened inside a mall in the city when a woman reported to be in her 20s was sexually assaulted by a man later identified as Mr Onidare while shopping.

‎Later that day, the suspect allegedly approached an underage girl at a transit terminal, struck up a conversation with her before proceeding to sexually assault her.

‎“On Monday, August 31, two females were allegedly sexually assaulted in separate incidents in Brampton by an unknown male. In the first incident, a woman in her 20s was shopping at a mall in the area of Dixie Road and Clark Boulevard when the suspect allegedly approached and sexually assaulted her.

‎“Later that day, a female under the age of 18 was waiting at a transit terminal in the area of Central Park Drive and Queen Street East when the suspect allegedly approached her, engaged her in conversation, and then sexually assaulted her,” the Peel Regional Police said.

‎Police later declared Mr Onidare wanted and was eventually identified by a member of the public, leading to his arrest. He was subsequently charged with two counts of sexual assault and breach of probation order.

‎“A member of the public recognized the male pictured in the previous news release and contacted police, investigators arrested Olusegun Onidare, a 33-year-old male of no fixed address.

‎“He has been charged with the following offences: Sexual Assault x 2 and Breach of Probation Order,” the police added.

‎Mr Onidare is being held in jail pending bail hearing as of Wednesday.
