Nigeria’s sprint hurdler, Tobi Amusan, has claimed a bronze medal in the women’s 100m hurdles at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Amusan finished third in the final on Day 7 of the competition after recording a time of 12.60 seconds. Her performance was affected after she clipped a hurdle during the race, slowing her momentum in the final stretch.
The gold medal went to Devynne Charlton of the Bahamas, who crossed the finish line in 12.33 seconds, while Jamaica’s Megan Simmonds took silver with a time of 12.41 seconds.
The bronze medal marked the end of Amusan’s dominance in the event at the Commonwealth Games. She had previously won gold at the 2018 Gold Coast Games before successfully defending her title at Birmingham 2022.
A victory in Glasgow would have seen the Nigerian become only the second female athlete to win three successive Commonwealth titles in the women’s 100m hurdles, matching the feat achieved by Australia’s Pam Kilborn between 1962 and 1970.
