Federal Teaching Hospital Lokoja Gets New CMD

Ozovehe Shehu, a chemical pathologist, has been appointed the new chief medical director of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Lokoja.

The Ebira Doctors’ Forum confirmed the appointment in a statement signed by its secretary, Moses Shaibu, on Monday.

The association commended the federal government for appointing its member as the substantive CMD of FTHL.

The EDF congratulated Mr Shehu and expressed confidence in his ability to transform the health institution.

According to EDF, Mr Shehu’s achievements reflect his dedication to service, advocacy, and workers’ welfare.

The group prayed for wisdom, health and guidance for the new CMD of the hospital.

The association pledged full support and readiness to collaborate and contribute to a lasting legacy under Shehu’s leadership at the tertiary health institution.

Mr Shehu was a past president of the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) at Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Zaria.

He also served as secretary and chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association in Kaduna, as chairman of the NMA Committee on Remuneration and Welfare, and as a one-time board member of the NMA.

Until his current appointment, Mr Shehu was the secretary of the National Association of Medical and Dental Academics.

Mr Shehu succeeded Ojochide Ebune, who had been acting as the CMD.
