‎Taraba State Governor, Dr Abgu Kefas has inaugurated the state security advisory committee as part of his efforts to strengthen the state’s security architecture and enhance peace and stability.

‎He described the committee as a vital component of his administration’s security framework, established to provide timely, objective and practical advise on security matters to support government decision making.

‎The governor urged members of the committee to discharge their responsibilities with courage, patriotism, discretion and absolute integrity, stressing that sensitive security information must be handled responsibility.

‎He charged members to promote intelligence driven security strategies, strengthen early warning systems, encourage community engagement, prevent conflicts and foster closer collaboration among government institutions, security agencies and the public.

‎He emphasized that every recommendation of the committee should prioritize the safety, peace and stability of the state above personal, political or sectional interests.

‎Earlier, the Secretary to the Government of the state, Chief Gebon Timothy Kataps disclosed that security remains a top priority since the inception of the present administration.

‎He noted that the state government has invested significant resources in procuring security equipment for various security agencies to improve their operational capacity.

‎He further explained that the Governor also established a zonal security consultative team which toured the local government areas of the state to engage directly with communities, identify challenges and develop grassroots driven solutions.

‎The committee is expected to further strengthen collaboration between government, security agencies and communities in addressing emerging security challenges and sustaining the peaceful environment necessary for continued development of the state.
