The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has approved the promotion of 374 officers serving in the Kwara State Police Command as part of efforts to recognise outstanding performance and dedication to duty.

According to a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the promotion exercise affected officers across various ranks. A total of 365 police constables were elevated to the rank of corporal, while two corporals were promoted to sergeant. In addition, five sergeants advanced to the rank of inspector, and two superintendents of police were promoted to chief superintendent.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Ojo Adekimi, congratulated the beneficiaries, describing the promotions as recognition of their commitment, sacrifice, and contributions to maintaining security and public order.

He noted that the elevation should serve not only as a reward for hard work but also as a reminder of the greater responsibilities that come with higher ranks. He urged the promoted officers to remain disciplined, professional, and dedicated to the core values of the Nigeria Police Force.

The latest promotions form part of a nationwide exercise aimed at rewarding excellence, strengthening professionalism, and improving service delivery across the Nigeria Police Force.
