INEC to Release Candidate Upload Access Codes as APC Rejects Online Primary Results‎

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is set to issue access codes to political parties today, allowing them to upload the names and nomination documents of candidates for the 2027 general election.

‎The release of the codes was initially scheduled for Friday, June 26, but was postponed until Monday to ensure a smoother upload process, according to sources within the commission and the political parties.

‎INEC had already distributed the required nomination forms to the parties, leaving the issuance of the portal access codes as the final step before candidate details can be submitted electronically.
‎
‎A source familiar with the process explained that political parties have completed the distribution of nomination forms to their candidates and are now waiting for the access codes to begin uploading the documents to the commission’s portal.

‎Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has presented Certificates of Return to its candidates following the conclusion of its primary elections. The party also issued INEC nomination forms to the successful aspirants and instructed them to complete and return the documents within 72 hours to facilitate prompt submission.

‎The PDP leadership, led by Abdulrahman Mohammed, also ratified the outcomes of its presidential, governorship, National Assembly and State House of Assembly primaries for the 2027 elections.

‎In a related development, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected a list circulating on social media that allegedly contains the names of winners from its primary elections.
‎
‎In a statement released by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the party described the publication as false and unauthorised, stressing that no official list of successful candidates had been released.
‎
‎The APC advised members and the public to disregard the circulating document, adding that all successful aspirants would be officially notified through the party’s recognised communication channels before receiving their Certificates of Return.
