Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, has postponed two major events following recent attacks on Binnari community in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of the state.
The affected events are the 10th anniversary of His Royal Highness Alhaji Zubairu Hammangabdo, the Lamido of Gashaka, scheduled for October 31, 2026, and the 50th anniversary of the creation of Zing Local Government Area, earlier scheduled for October 29, 2026.
The postponement was announced in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Bureau for Local Government, Traditional and Chieftaincy Affairs, Engr. Godfrey A. Dame.
The statement said new dates would be announced for both events and apologised to members of the public for any inconvenience caused by the postponement.
