The Lagos State Government has announced a temporary traffic diversion around the Anthony Village Bus Stop area as reconstruction work gets underway to repair a section of the road frequently damaged by heavy rainfall.

‎The Ministry of Transportation disclosed on Tuesday that excavation is currently ongoing at the site. According to the ministry’s spokesperson, Bolanle Ogunlola, the project is designed to provide a permanent solution to the recurring deterioration of the road caused by persistent downpours.

‎She explained that the affected stretch will be rebuilt using interlocking paving stones to improve its durability, while traffic management measures have been introduced to ensure the safety of motorists and construction workers throughout the project.

‎Under the diversion plan, motorists travelling from Fadeyi towards the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway through Anthony Village will no longer be able to use that route. Drivers heading to Oshodi via the Anthony Village Bus Stop service lane have been advised to remain on the expressway and connect through alternative access points ahead.

‎Similarly, motorists approaching from Oshodi and intending to join Anthony-Ikorodu Road through Anthony Village have been informed that the road is temporarily closed at the construction site.

‎The state government appealed to road users for patience and cooperation while the reconstruction work is being carried out.
