The Lagos State Police Command has reassured the public that there is no credible terror threat targeting Pan-Atlantic University in Lekki, Lagos.

‎The clarification came on Wednesday during an on-the-spot security inspection at the institution, following public alarm triggered by a viral video showing two masked individuals emerging from a forested area near the university premises.

‎In response to the video, security authorities moved quickly to assess the situation, strengthen surveillance, and restore public confidence in the safety of the university community.

‎During the visit, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, met with the university management and reviewed existing security arrangements. He urged the institution to reinforce its internal security systems to prevent potential risks.

‎He emphasized the importance of stronger perimeter control, improved access management, and closer coordination with security agencies to ensure a safer academic environment.

‎CP Jimoh reassured students, staff, and parents that the police remain fully committed to protecting lives and property across Lagos State. He also pledged swift response to any security concerns and continuous monitoring of the area.

‎As part of broader security measures, the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) announced the deployment of surveillance drones around the university and adjoining communities. The initiative, supported by the state government, is aimed at improving aerial monitoring, intelligence gathering, and crime prevention operations.

‎Authorities also encouraged the university community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity promptly, stressing that public cooperation is essential to effective security management.

‎The police command further advised the institution to maintain strong collaboration with relevant security agencies and adopt proactive safety measures to safeguard its campus environment.

‎Residents and members of the public were urged to make use of emergency contact lines for timely reporting of security-related incidents, as the command reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining peace and safety across Lagos State.
