‎Manchester City have now won seven Premier League matches in a row this season as Enzo Maresca’s side beat Ipswich Town 3-2 at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

‎‎The result means that Man City, on 21 points, extend the gap ahead of second-place Arsenal in the league standings to six points, with the Gunners set to play Nottingham Forest on the road on Sunday.

‎It was Phil Foden who opened the scoring for the hosts in the 19th minute after slotting home a pass from Jeremy Doku from close range. However, Daizen Maeda equalised for Ipswich two minutes later.

‎Erling Haaland restored Man City’s lead from close range in the 34th minute and scored again in the 69th minute to make it 3-1. He thought he had netted a third in the 85th minute but was ruled out by the VAR for an offside.

‎Zian Flemming pulled one back for Ipswich from the spot kick on the 90th minute mark, but it was too late to rescue a point as Man City secured the maximum three points to continue an impressive start to the season.

‎Meanwhile, at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, Pedro Neto scored a brace as Chelsea beat Everton 2-0 to move up to fourth on the league table with 13 points.

‎‎Following a goalless first half, Neto broke the deadlock for Chelsea inside the opening minute of the second half, latching onto a deflected ball inside the 18-yard box in the 90th minute to seal the victory for the Blues.

‎Another team on the road was Liverpool, which came back from a goal down to beat nine-man Brentford 2-1 at the Gtech Community Stadium.

‎‎Brentford took the lead in the 44th minute through Keane Lewis-Potter from a header assist by Igor Thiago, but were reduced to 10 men just before the halftime whistle after Yehor Yarmoliuk was sent off for violent conduct.

‎Viktor Munoz equalised for Liverpool in the 62nd minute before Alexander Isak scored what ended up being the winning goal for the Reds eight minutes later, tapping home a contested ball inside the box.

‎Brentford’s Vitaly Janelt was given the marching orders in added time after receiving a second yellow card.
