Michael Dell, founder of Dell Technologies, has overtaken Google co-founder Sergey Brin to become the world’s fourth-richest person, according to Forbes’ real-time billionaire rankings.
Dell’s estimated net worth rose by 2.4 per cent to $243 billion on Monday, October 26, 2026, following a rise in Dell Technologies shares, while Brin’s fortune fell slightly to $241.7 billion amid continued losses in the shares of Alphabet, Google’s parent company.
Dell Technologies shares rose by more than three per cent to $472.43 on Monday afternoon, recovering slightly from a month-long decline. The company’s stock has gained 274 per cent since the beginning of the year, when it traded at about $127, driven largely by growing demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure.
Forbes reported that Dell, who owns approximately 40 per cent of Dell Technologies, now ranks behind Tesla chief executive Elon Musk, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Alphabet co-founder Larry Page, whose estimated fortunes stood at $939.3 billion, $368.8 billion and $262.8 billion, respectively.
Dell’s wealth has fluctuated alongside the performance of his company’s shares, which fell about 18.5 per cent over the past month following a downgrade by Barclays analyst Tim Long on October 14.
Long argued that much of the company’s revenue growth reflected higher prices for memory and random-access memory (RAM).
Despite the recent decline, Dell Technologies reported $47 billion in revenue for its second quarter, representing a 58 per cent increase from the same period last year.
Beyond his stake in Dell Technologies, Dell’s wealth also includes investments held through his private investment firm, DFO Management, and a stake in Broadcom.
Investors will be watching the company’s fiscal third-quarter earnings report, scheduled for November 24, for indications of how much of its artificial intelligence-related order backlog is translating into revenue and cash.
