In his remarks at the ceremony, President Christodoulides warmly welcomed Ambassador Ufochukwu and reaffirmed the deep and enduring friendship between Cyprus and Nigeria.

He said Cyprus and Nigeria share ties of friendship, born out of their shared historical experiences, common principles and the enduring links between their peoples.

The Cypriot President added that his country fully comprehends Nigeria’s significant role in West Africa and across the African continent, as well as its contribution to regional dialogue, cooperation, integration and stability.

President Christodoulides further assured that the Government of Cyprus stands ready to work closely with the Government of Nigeria to advance relations in areas of mutual interest.

For Nigeria, the appointment of Ambassador Ufochukwu signals renewed commitment to strengthening its footprint in Europe and the Mediterranean region, particularly in areas of economic cooperation, education, and diaspora welfare.
