The apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, has congratulated the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, on her 58th birthday, commending her contributions to national development and public service.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Ezechi Chukwu, the organisation described the minister as a distinguished leader whose career has reflected dedication, patriotism and excellence.
Ohanaeze noted that before becoming foreign affairs minister, Mrs Odumegwu-Ojukwu built an impressive record as a lawyer, diplomat and former ambassador, consistently promoting Nigeria’s interests at home and abroad.
The group also highlighted her achievements in pageantry, recalling that she won the Miss Nigeria, Miss Africa and Miss Intercontinental titles. It said her accomplishments have made her a role model for Ndigbo, Nigerian women and young people across the country.
According to the organisation, the minister’s commitment to public service and diplomacy has continued to project Nigeria positively on the global stage.
”Her remarkable journey remains a source of pride and inspiration to Ndigbo, Nigerian women and the younger generation,” the statement said.
Ohanaeze President-General, Azuta Mbata, described Mrs Odumegwu-Ojukwu as a worthy ambassador of the values associated with the Igbo people.
He said she exemplifies resilience, dignity, brilliance and excellence, adding that her achievements continue to inspire many.
Mr Mbata prayed that God would grant the minister good health, wisdom and greater strength as she marks her 58th birthday, urging her to continue serving Nigeria and humanity with distinction.
The congratulatory message concluded with Ohanaeze expressing its best wishes to the minister on the milestone celebration.
