The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned that any property in Abuja being used as a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) headquarters by the faction led by Kabiru Tanimu Turaki will be sealed off.

Wike also cautioned that any bank that allows the Turaki-led PDP faction to open an account for the sale of nomination forms ahead of the 2027 general elections would face serious consequences.

He described such arrangements as fraudulent, insisting they amount to deceiving Nigerians under the cover of political activity.

The Minister gave the warning on Wednesday during his monthly media briefing while responding to questions from journalists.

According to him, “Any bank that allows the Turaki-led PDP to open an account for the sale of nomination forms will be in trouble. I will seal off any house that allows them to use it as the PDP headquarters.”

The development comes amid fresh tensions within the PDP following a Supreme Court ruling linked to the party’s leadership crisis.

In reaction to the judgment, the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the PDP, led by former Senate President Adolphus Wabara, said it had taken over the running of the party to prevent a leadership vacuum.

The BoT maintained that the ruling invalidated the party’s November 2025 national convention in Ibadan, which produced the Turaki-led National Working Committee.

It also argued that the judgment affected the status of suspended officials including Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Umar Bature, and Kamaldeen Ajibade, insisting that actions taken by them were null and void.

However, the PDP faction loyal to Wike dismissed claims of a leadership vacuum, insisting in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Jungudo Mohammed, that Abdulrahman Mohammed remains the legitimate national chairman of the party.

The internal crisis continues to deepen divisions within the PDP as preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
