The police command in Bauchi says it arrested four suspects following the killing of a farmer during a farmer-herder clash in Guda village, Ningi council area.

‎In a statement on Friday, the command’s spokesperson, Nafiu Habib, said the killing occurred at about 7:40 a.m. on September 23.

‎“Three farmers from Guda Village went to their farms on Guda Hill and found cattle belonging to a herder grazing on and destroying their crops,” he said.

‎‎According to him, they chased the cattle to the herders’ settlement, where an argument ensued and escalated into a fight.

‎‎He added that police arrested four suspects on Thursday through intelligence-led operations, saying that the suspects were arrested for alleged criminal conspiracy, causing grievous hurt, arson and culpable homicide.
