Nigeria’s Super Eagles were narrowly beaten 2-1 by Portugal in an international friendly played on Wednesday, as the European side completed its World Cup preparations with another victory.
Portugal opened the scoring through Pedro Neto, but the Super Eagles responded with an equaliser from Akor Adams to level the contest.
The hosts, however, reclaimed the lead in the second half when substitute Francisco Conceição curled a superb effort into the far corner, sealing the win for Portugal.
The result gives Portugal back-to-back victories ahead of the World Cup, while Nigeria will take positives from a competitive performance despite ending the match on the losing side.
