The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says its maintenance crew is repairing a fault on the 33kV NIPP feeder at the Kubwa 132/33kV transmission substation in Abuja.
‎
‎The company said in a statement on Tuesday that the feeder tripped at 9:39 a.m. on Sunday after an earth fault.
‎
‎“The Electricity Distribution Company (AED) maintenance team patrolled the feeder and certified it okay for restoration,” the company said.
‎
‎It said that during an attempt to restore the feeder at about 6:34 p.m., it tripped again on overcurrent and earth fault, shattering the blue phase interrupter head of the feeder circuit breaker.
‎
‎“Consequently, AEDC has been unable to off-take bulk power for its customers in FO1, Dantata Estate, Byazhin, Byazhin Across, and Gbazango,” it noted.
‎
‎The company said it regretted any inconvenience caused by the outage and assured that it would restore power as soon as repair work on the breaker is completed.
