President Donald Trump on Monday said he is looking at firing U.S. ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle, amid allegations she demanded $100,000 from a political donor in exchange for access to the White House.

‎“Well, we’re looking at it,” Mr Trump told reporters at the White House on Monday when asked whether he was considering firing Ms Guilfoyle over allegations that she demanded $100,000 from a donor to pay her personal credit card bill.

‎Mr Trump expressed displeasure with Ms Guilfoyle’s conduct, which the Wall Street Journal first reported.

‎“Yeah, we’re not happy,” Mr Trump said.

‎‎Ms Guilfoyle has come under fire after reports that she requested money from a political donor, promising favour from Mr Trump’s administration in return.

‎‎Eric Deters, a Trump donor, exposed Ms Guilfoyle asking him to pay her outstanding $100,000 American Express bill before her 2025 Senate confirmation hearing.

‎‎“She was so desperate for that $100,000. It was a quid pro quo,” Mr Deters said in an interview with NBC News last week. “She said I could ask her for anything and everything in Trump world. There was no request too big.”

‎However, Ms Guilfoyle’s attorney has denied the allegations.
