The Gubernatorial Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Taraba State, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, has warned those planning to rig election to desist from doing so, adding that they will pay for it if they should refused to heed.
He disclosed this while addressing his supporters, contestants and party officials during the unveiling of his running mate, Engr Aminu Zakari at his campaign office, Nyamusalla, Jalingo.
“Those singing the language of rigging will sign the results. I want to tell Tarabans that anyone who rigs election will pay for it.
“Let us reject politics of fear, division and anything above our destination.
“History teaches us that every generation is confronted by a defining moment, a moment when it must decide whether to inherit the future or create it.
“Today is more than the unveiling of a running mate. It is the unveiling of a new possibility. It is an invitation to believe again in the promise of Taraba State. “There comes a moment in the life of every people when silence becomes surrender and comfort becomes complicity.”
According to him, after the 2023 governorship election, he believed that his public had reached its natural conclusion.
“I had made peace with that decision. I looked forward to devoting my life to my family, my profession and private service. But history has a way of interrupting our personal plans. When the cry of a people becomes louder than the comfort of private life, duty leaves no room for retreat.
“I stand before you today, not merely to seek your mandate, but to answer a call greater than myself; a call to serve, to restore hope and to help write a better chapter in the history of our state.
“History reminds us that the wealth of a people is never determined by the riches beneath their soil, but by the character of those entrusted with their future.”
Senator Bwacha said that for months, he have listened to different voices more than he have spoken.
“I have listened to farmers asking only for roads that connect them to markets. I have listened to young graduates asking not for favours, but for opportunities.
“I have listened to mothers asking not for miracles, but for schools that educate, hospitals that heal and communities where their children can dream without fear, their voices are different, their hopes are the same.
“The greatest cry of our people is not for another politician. It is for trustworthy leadership, that conviction shaped one of the most important decisions of this journey.”
He disclose that he choose Engr. Aminu Zakari not because it was politically convenient, because leadership must always place competence above convenience, character above connections, and service above self.
“His record of public service, professional excellence, and unquestionable integrity represents the future we seek to build. His presence on this ticket sends a simple but powerful message.
“If we continue to tell our young people they are the leaders of tomorrow without trusting them with responsibility today, then tomorrow will forever remain out of reach.
“We seek to build a Taraba where agriculture creates wealth, education unlocks opportunity, healthcare restores dignity, enterprise flourishes, infrastructure connects communities, and government earns the trust of the people through integrity, competence and results.
“Government is not measured by the size of its budget, but by the size of the difference it makes in the lives of ordinary people.”
He call on Tarabans to reject the politics of fear, division and every attempt to place tribe above common destiny, religion above our shared humanity or personal ambition above the public good.
“For no society has ever risen by pulling itself apart. Great societies rise because they choose unity over division, purpose over prejudice, and hope over fear, let us build together,” he said.
