50-Year-Old Woman Killed, Child Seriously Injured in Ireland Road Crash

‎A 50-year-old woman has lost her life, while a child suffered serious injuries following a head-on collision involving a car and a truck in the Republic of Ireland.

‎The crash happened around 5 p.m. on Friday along the R162 road at Corclare, Shercock, in County Cavan.

‎According to Gardaí, the Irish police, the woman, who was driving the car, died at the scene of the accident. The child, who was travelling as a passenger, was rushed to Temple Street Hospital for treatment.

‎Several other occupants of the vehicles were assessed and treated by medical personnel at the scene, but authorities confirmed that no further injuries were recorded.

‎Gardaí said the affected road has been closed to allow forensic investigators to carry out examinations, while traffic diversions have been put in place.

‎The police have also appealed to members of the public who witnessed the crash or may have relevant information to assist with the investigation.
