Amirah Salihu, one of the released hostages who were abducted from Woro village, in Kaiama local council of Kwara in February, has recounted their ordeals throughout their six months in captivity.
Mrs Salihu, in an interview with journalists in Ilorin, the state capital on Friday, said the terrorists fed them horrible meals and killed two of her brothers.
“We thank God and our president. The kind of food they gave us there was bad. The food without magi and salt. I helped pregnant women during delivery. They even killed my senior and junior brothers. They said it was because of my dad who refused to allow them into the village,” the victim stated.
Mrs Salihu’s narration came as Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq recieved all the 163 hostages who were rescued by a combined team of security agencies on Wednesday.
Mr Abdulrazaq visited the victims at various health facilities where they were receiving medical treatment.
The victims, who looked visibly tired and malnourished, waved at the governor who moved to greet them.
Mr Abdulrazaq appreciated President Bola Tinubu and the military for the successful rescue of the victims.
He also commiserated with the families of 13 victims who lost their lives while in captivity.
The victims regained their freedom on Wednesday after spending six months in the captivity of the terrorists.
The victims, mostly women and children, were kidnapped on February 3 when terrorists invaded the community, abducted several persons and killed many others.
It was unclear whether ransom was paid or not to secure their freedom.
